About 40 people took part in the Sails of Glory preview at Enfilade 2013, last weekend, at Olympia (WA, USA). It was the first playable presentation of the game in the United States, and there was a great deal of enthusiasm shown by the attendees.
"We had a great reception of the ships, knowing they were pre-production versions, and everyone was smiling when they left. Many were Kickstarter supporters and they could not wait to get their ships! Fathers and sons, friends and strangers all were happy. We even had dealers who could not wait to get this in stock", said Bill Hughes, who promoted the presentation together with Doug Nolan, in his report posted at the Sails of Glory group on Yahoo!.
The demo was played using basic rules and there were many questions about the "full blown" version. "It can be played as simple or as complex as you desire and it is fun. We ran many sessions of 4 players and it takes about 20-30 minutes to get through a beginners' battle. These ships are sturdy and have a nice look to them. They are a great gaming figure and can be customized as far as I can see like the Wings of Glory planes we all love", commented Bill.
Besides the Sails of Glory preview, people at Enfilade also had the chance of playing WW1 Wings of Glory in several sessions and a tournament on Saturday, May 25th - click here for the report of this activities.
Ares Games thanks Bill Hughes, Doug Nolan and all the supporters who promoted Sails of Glory and Wings of Glory activities at Enfilade 2013.
