Ares Games announces that Aztlán and Lords of Middle-earth, the two games just released at Essen Spiel'12, are now shipping to North America distributors and will be available in US and Canadian stores starting from November 5th. In Europe, the games will start to hit the shelves in the first half of November.
Aztlán is the first Euro-style game branded Ares Games. In the mythical land of Aztlán, four tribes strive to survive and prosper under the scrutiny of the gods themselves. Players guide their tribe to build the mightiest empire through the Five Ages of the Sun, win the favor of the gods, and be granted the right to stay in the blessed land when the Time of Exile comes. Created by Leo Colovini, the game combines easy to learn rules, deep and engaging strategic game play, and high quality components.
Lords of Middle-earth is the first expansion for War of the Ring Second Edition, and introduce in the game important personalities, represented by specific figures and rules. New Characters include Elrond, Galadriel, Sméagol, Gothmog and the powerful Balrog of Moria, as well as alternate versions of Gandalf, the Witch-king and the Mouth of Sauron. The expansion also includes new special Action Dice - Elven Ring Keepers dice for the Free Peoples player and Lesser Minion dice for the Shadow player -, and new versions of all the Companions of the Fellowship of the Ring, to play the optional “Council of Rivendell” rules.
The international editions of both games will be available in November through publishing partners: Aztlán and Lords of Middle-earth are published in Italian by Red Glove and in German by Heidelberger Spieleverlag. Lords of Middle-earth is also published in Spanish, by Devir.
