Ares Games will be at PAX Unplugged (December 6-8, Philadephia, PA) the civ-building games Mega Empires: The West and Mega Empires: The East and presenting the deck-building civilization game Altay - Dawn of Civilization and the three-dimensional tile placement game Builders of Sylvan Dale at booth 3251. These two games will arrive in US retail stores just after the show.
Attendees will also have the chance to play Aeterna, the awaited euro game set in Ancient Rome designed by Martin Wallace, due to release in January 2025, and Viking Route, a cooperative game using an ingenious compass-and-magnets movement mechanic. The crowdfunding project for the game will run on Kickstarter from December 3rd to 20th, and a prototype will be in demo at PAX-U.
New and recent releases from partners will be also available at Ares’ booth: Diluvium, a 1-hour 4X game set in the aftermath of a great flood, Phantom Fury, a gripping solitaire tactical game, and Port Arthur, a fast-playing strategy game immersing players in the Russo-Japanese War, by Nuts! Publishing; Snails, a dynamic game where players command squads of pumped up mollusks in a pitched battle, and Beyond the Horizon, the second expansion for the post-apocalyptic game Waste Knights Second Edition, by Galakta Games, and Barbarian Kingdoms, an epic journey through the tumultuous era of the fall of the Roman Empire, by Jester Games.
Players of War of the Ring - The Card Game will find at the show the new expansion Fire and Swords, along with the Card Boxes and Sleeves Red Bannerman (Shadow) and Radagast (Free Peoples). For the War of the Ring board game, the new Colored Plastic Rings - to protect the bases of the miniatures and recognize them at a glance on the game board - will be for sale at the show.
