Xplored, creators of Teburu, have confirmed the crowdfunding campaign for Teburu Dungeon: Sword and Sorcery is set for the second half of 2025. Initially revealed ahead of The Bad Karmas launch on Kickstarter, the partnership with Ares Games marks the third title developed for the Teburu system. Teburu Dungeon: Sword and Sorcery is a new adventure for the beloved board game franchise, but existing players will find familiar links to the Immortal Souls campaign. Watch the teaser trailer:
Teburu has grown from launching in 2022 as an innovative tech system with a new, original IP based game, to collaborating with established universes on unique game play in Vampire: The Masquerade. With Teburu Dungeon: Sword and Sorcery, Teburu will adapt an existing board game to the system and show how it can be enhanced to its full potential when combined with Xplored’s approach to technology on the tabletop.
With one of the most sophisticated monsters & combat management systems in its category, Sword and Sorcery has received great appreciation from the most experienced players. Sword & Sorcery's game design is a great starting point to create a rich and deep Teburu experience, but more streamlined and easy to play.
Since being revealed, the Teburu community have been asking for more details on the ways Teburu will handle Sword and Sorcery’s rules and game mechanics. Development of Teburu Dungeon: Sword and Sorcery is still in its early stages, but fans can expect the AI management systems and book-keeping functions that are core to existing Teburu games to once again be reflected in ways specific to Sword and Sorcery.
Backers that already own Sword and Sorcery will be able to re-use their models thanks to a conversion kit that will be available during the crowdfunding campaign. By upgrading their existing models to smart minis, players can leverage the advantages of the Teburu system while breathing new life into their collection, rather than having to buy duplicates.
Those wishing to experience the Teburu system for themselves can still back the campaign for The Bad Karmas and The Curse of Cthulhu, which runs until November 7th. To stay up to date with the latest Teburu news, including Teburu Dungeon: Sword and Sorcery, follow the Xplored’s Newsletter here.
