Essen Spiel 2024 is over, and it was a great time to connect with players from around the globe: 204,000 attendees from over 80 nations filled the Messe Essen with their enthusiasm for board games. The Ares Games booth was buzzing with activity throughout the four days, with hundreds of enthusiastic gamers trying out the latest releases - Altay - Dawn of Civilization, Builders of Sylvan Dale, Mega Empires: The West and Mega Empires: The East, and Fire and Swords, the new expansion for War of the Ring The Card Game. The first copies of Altay, arrived just in time for the show, sold out in the first day, while Builders of Sylvan Dale early the third day.
Visitors had the chance to experience one-hour demos of Mega Empires, guided by the game designers Flo de Haan and Gerart de Haan, and met the authors Simone Romano (Sword & Sorcery), Ole Steiness and Paolo Mori (Altay – Dawn of Civilization), Christophe and Aurelie Lebrun (Barbarian Kingdoms), and Peter Ridgeway (Builders of Sylvan Dale). The previews of Aeterna and Viking Route sparked a lot of excitement and interest.
