Ares Games just returned from Gen Con 2024, a record-breaking event with over 71,000 attendees. The outcome was incredibly positive: during the "best four days in gaming" our demo tables and event tables were always full. Players were excited to discover for the first time our upcoming Altay - Dawn of Civilization. The first copies of War of the Ring The Card Game - Fire and Swords expansion quickly sold out, and the War of the Ring – The Card Game Gen Con Grand Prix tournament was one of our highlights for the show.
Attendeees had the opportunity to try the newly released strategy boardgame Barbarian Kingdoms, along with recent releases and best-sellers like Sword & Sorcery and War of the Ring.
The War of the Ring The Card Game - Gen Con Grand Prix, was held on Friday, August 2nd, with competitors playing over three rounds with great sportsmanship and in a friendly atmosphere. The winners, Wojciech Lubawski and Gregory Su, were awarded by the game designer Ian Brody with an exclusive "Radagast" print plus a $250 gift certificate.
