The historical and political wargame set during the Cold War DEFCON 1 is now shipping to distributors and will start to hit the US stores on October 27th. Published by Asyncron Games, DEFCON 1 was succesfully funded on Kickstarter in 2021, and its English edition distributed by Ares Games.
DEFCON 1: a strategy game about the Cold War.
DEFCON 1 is a fully asymmetrical strategy game for 2 to 5 players, which scales perfectly to different player counts thanks to its scenarios, and which does not neglect any variable of a fascinating historical period.
The players control five different blocs - three major blocs (the Atlantic Alliance, the Warsaw Pact, the Non-Aligned Movement) and two minor blocs (France and China). Each bloc has its strengths and weaknesses, using its own technological tree, its mission and objective cards, and even scalable pool of units. The Defcon level degrades during the game from 5 to 1, and the level degrades depending on the actions of the players, opening new strategical options that will become available, such as building nuclear bombs.
