It's time to get together again to play Wings of Glory: after two years of restrictions due to Covid-19, events have restarted in different countries in Europe. In March, a WW1 Wings of Glory event was held by the Italian gaming club A.L.A. - Associazione Ludica Apuana in Massa (Northern Tuscany, Italy), gathering 18 players, with the presence of Andrea Angiolino, co-author of the game. The next appointment will be the traditional Wings of Prague meeting , during the weekend of May 6th to 8th, followed by the Wings of Glory European Master, in Rome, from June 10th to 12th. Other two events are scheduled for the coming months, in France (AsynConv, July, 13-17, Centre Val di Loire) and England (September 30th-October 2nd, Doncaster).
Wings of Prague 2022, promoted by the Wings of Glory Aerodrome, arrives to its 9th edition. Almost 30 players are already registered for this year's event, including participants from France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Italy - among them Andrea Angiolino. The program includes six WW1 and four WW2 missions, and a Repaint Contest called "From Somewhere Else...", featuring aircraft in the colors of a different nation than available in the normal range. For more information about the event, visit the Wings of Glory Aerodrome forum.
The Wings of Glory European Master tournament, organized by the Italian Wargame Federation (FIW), is part of the Italian Wargame Convention 2022, which will take place in the beautiful location of Hotel Crowne Plaza Rome St. Peter, during the weekend of June 11th and 12th. It's a new event, with the intention by FIW to replicate it every year to create a special moment of competitive play for Wings of Glory players from all Europe. The event is supported by Ares Games, by the Italian gaming groups A.L.A. - Associazione Ludica Apuana and WASP - Wargame Spezia, and by the Wings of Prague and Wings of Glory Aerodrome. For tournament rules and more information, visit the event's page on the FIW website. Only 30 seats are available.
The next two events will be held in the second half of the year. In France, the appointment will be at AsynConv, the convention of Asyncron, publisher of the French edition of Wings of Glory. Participants will have the chance to see a preview of the campaign and Verdun scenarios created by Sir_erickson (Cyril Leroy), and to take part to demos by the Cirque Volant and Simon Monse. For information, visit Le Cirque Volant forum. The Doncaster Con, in England, promoted by Wings of Glory Aerodrome, will be held from September 30th to October 2th. More details will be posted on the Aerodrome Forum.
