Orconomics 2nd Edition project on Kickstarter enters its second week with over 230% funded and more than 500 backers. The initial funding goal of $10,000 was achieved in the first day of the campaign. Since then, several social goals were unlocked, as well the second funding goal - $22,000. The campaign will run until March 12th, and the game is due to release in December 2021 in two languages: English and French, in partnership with Bragelonne Games.
Orconomics 2nd Edition is a game for two to five players that recreate the chaotic economic world of modern Orcs on the gaming table. Backstabbing, ripping off opponents, taking away their industries - all is legit to get to the top of the Orc jet-set. Players compete to establish companies in ten different industrial sectors. Each sector generates income or losses, and grants players abilities that can be used during the game. To win the game, a player needs to be the first to found 10 companies on the game board or sometimes even less if they successfully fulfill some business quests of Greed, Rage or Dare.
The Orconomics 2nd Edition Kickstarter project offers only one Pledge Level at $49 for one copy of the exclusive Premium Edition of the game, including all unlocked stretch goals. The suggested retail price of the regular edition (not including the premium contents) will be around $45.
The Kickstarter’s Premium Edition will feature 50 Orc corporate building miniatures, in five colors, and all stretch goals unlocked during the campaign - as we write, it includes a high quality card holder, a limited Orc Rules of Business poster, an additional Crisis die with rules, two additional tiles and cards (Technorcracy and Education), two sets of cards (Espionage and Monopolist), and a Special Greed Quest card. The campaign offers also two optional rewards - a neoprene foldable dice tray and a set of metal coins to replace the tokens included in the game.
The Crisis die adds an extra twist to the Crisis mechanics, while Technorcracy and Education are the two first new government types, which give unique twists to the game: Technorcracy boosts startups and innovations, and Education, an extra industry sector that can replace Food Processing to create a variant game. Espionage and Monopolist cards are special sets of cards which, unlike your regular Industry cards, do not require a company placed in a specific sector.
The project continues with new goals at sight: Shamanocracy new tile, tokens and rules, and Goblocracy upgrade for government tile and new cards, to be unlocked in daily missions on social media, and a ambitious funding goal to be achieved until the end of the campaign - $50,000, for a set of 50 loan miniatures.
