Freedom!, a siege game for two players.

The PHALANX Games section is now updated with information and images of two new games coming in Spring 2020: Freedom! and its Solo Mode Expansion, and Europe Divided. These games were funded on Kickstarter in the first half of 2019 and they will arrive at retail by April 2020, after the fulfillment to the KS backers has been completed.

Freedom! is an asymmetrical siege game for two players which represents the siege of the Greek holy city Messolonghi by Ottoman forces during the Greek War of Independence. The invading forces attempt to get inside the city before the end of the game or force the citizens to abandon it by geting their morale to reach zero, while the defenders try to withstand the siege and protect the city long enough for the invaders to abandon their attempt deciding to leave on their own or by their morale reaching zero. With the Solo Mode Expansion, releasing at same time as the base game, a single player take the role of the Imperial Forces (Ottoman), while the Freedom Forces (Greek) are played by A.I.

Europe Divided is a game of an expansionist Europe, a resurgent Russia, and a new Cold War, taking place over two periods: 1992-2008 (European Expansion) and 2008-2019 (Russian Resurgence). Each player controls one of the two powers: Europe (controlling both NATO and the European Union) or Russia, both managing conflicts of political and military influence.
