Second wave of invasion: Mk.III Squid.

The Martian invasion continues with the second wave of tripods starting to hit US stores on September 27th and reaching other countries in the following weeks. Wings of Glory - Tripods & Triplanes was launched one month ago, with the release of the Starter Set and the first tripods - Mk.I Locust and Mk.II Scarab.

Now, the alien invaders are reinforced by the Mk.III Squid and Mk.IV Cuttlefish.

Tripods & Triplanes is a new stand-alone game where the WW1 Wings of Glory historical setting is turned upside down by the crossover with H.G. Wells' novel "The War of the Worlds”. What should be the year the war ends, 1918, becomes the “Year of the Invasion”. Two different generations of Martian Tripods, one more advanced than the other, land on Earth, in two waves of invasion.

The second wave introduces the Mk.III Squid, one of the most lethal weapons of the Martian invaders, whose arrival often is a warning of the coming of a massive assault of the Tripods - but one of these scouts is able to destroy Earthlings by himself, and the Mk.IV Cuttlefish, their ultimate weapon (or the forerunner of even worse things to come?) with powerful energy shields, long-range heat ray and multiple black smoke launchers.

The new arrivals include also the Tripods & Triplanes WW2 Counter Set, to play using WW2 Wings of Glory airplanes.
