Following the complete fulfillment of Kickstarter backers in North America, Wings of Glory - Tripods & Triplanes, the new stand-alone game, fully compatible with WW1 Wings of Glory, is now shipping to distributors and will start to hit the US stores on August 23rd. In addition to the Tripods & Triplanes Starter Set, two Tripod Packs - Mk.I "Locust" and Mk.II "Scarab" - and three accessories for the game. will arrive in retail.
Tripods & Triplanes brings the Martian invasion - described by H.G. Wells in his novel ‘The War of the Worlds’ - to the Wings of Glory game, merging it with the historical background of the Great War. The knights of the air of WW1 battle against colossal fighting machines sent by the Martians to invade Earth. Players take control of an awesome Martian Tripod, set upon bringing death and destruction on our planet… or fly in the most advanced flying machines created by Mankind during World War One, and try to use them to win the War of the Worlds.
The WW1 Wings of Glory Tripods & Triplanes Starter Set is a complete game that includes everything needed to start playing: one Mk.I “Locust” Tripod model and one Nieuport 16 airplane (Jean Navarre's model), fully assembled and painted, with special gaming bases, maneuver and damage cards, rulers, counters, markers and tokens, a rulebook and a scenario booklet. The Tripod Packs allow to add more tripods to the game, starting wil the Mk.I "Locust" and the Mk.II "Scarab". The game can also be expanded with WW1 Wings of Glory airplanes, as the Albert Ball's Nieuport 16.
The accessories releasing together with the Starter Set and the first Tripods Packs allow to play larger battles with more tripods in the game: Additional Counter Set with rulers, templates and tokens, Additional Damage Decks, and a set of of red and yellow acrylic Energy Cubes.
Tripods & Triplanes game will be also available in the following weeks in other countries. The shipping of the rewards to Kickstarter backers worldwide should finish by mid-August, when the Europe fulfillment will be completed.
