The Kickstarter project to fund the release of Wings of Glory – Tripods & Triplanes, reached its initial goal of $30,000 in 29 hours and now flies toward its first stretch goal: $40,000 to unlock a gaming mat. Other two goals were revealed as the funding goal was achieved. The campaign will run until December 20th, and as we write, the project reached over $36,000 pledged and almost 400 backers.
The Tripods & Triplanes project on Kickstarter offers the choice between three pledge levels: Martian pledge ($45) includes everything needed to start playing - a copy of the Tripods & Triplanes Starter Set and all Martian stretch goals unlocked during the campaign; the Invasion pledge ($80) includes the rewards of the Martian level and, in addition, two Tripod Packs, the Mk.I “Locust” and Mk.II “Scarab”; and The Earth Fights Back ($140) pledge includes all the rewards of the Invasion level, plus a WW1 Wings of Glory Rules and Accessories Pack and four WW1 Wings of Glory Airplane Packs.
The stretch goals will add extra items to upgrade the game. The first goal, at $ 40,000 is a 70 x 100 cm game mat, printed on 150 GSM coated paper, to be included in the Invasion Pack rewards. Double-sided objective tokens with buildings and terrain features are already a part of the Starter Set; a nice playing surface to match them will enhance the game experience. The next goal, $45,000, will unlock a suitable set of rules to play solo against tripods. These rules will also allow co-operative play with multiple Earth pilots fighting against "artificially intelligent" pilots. This goal will be unlocked for all backers, Martian and up.
The third stretch goal is another very important boost to the project - at $ 50,000, the set of rules and counters to allow Full Compatibility with WW2 Wings of Glory rules and airplane packs - free of charge to Invasion and The Earth Fights Back backers; and also available as an add-on.
