Ares Games will be present from October 26th to 29th at the Essen Spiel 2017 (Hall 3, Booth E100 and Hall 2 C138), with several exciting new releases. The new games include Hunt for the Ring, a hidden movement, deduction and adventure game, “prequel” to War of the Ring, the race and betting game Divinity Derby; and the thrilling card game Monsters vs. Heroes – Victorian Nightmares.
Also releasing at the show are the first expansion for Last Friday, Return to Camp Apache, and new Sails of Glory Ship Packs featuring 12 ships that includes 34-guns Mahonesa Class Frigates, 64-guns Third Rate Ships-of-the-Line, 80-guns Bucentaure / Tonnant Class Ships-of-the-Line, and East Indiamen Ex-Merchant Ships.
In addition to these new releases, the entire line-up of Ares Games’ products will be available at the Spiel 2017, including recent releases such as Sword & Sorcery, the epic-fantasy cooperative board game; Final Countdown, the new expansion for Galaxy Defenders; the new WW2 Wings of Glory Battle of Britain Starter Set, the card games Dungeon Time and Stay Away!, and the family game Quickpick - Mutant Dinosaur Park.
Ares will also present at Essen Spiel a preview of Tripods & Triplanes, a Wings of Glory “weird war” spin-off designed by Andrea Angiolino (Wings of Glory/Sails of Glory), Francesco Nepitello and Marco Maggi (War of the Ring, Age of Conan Strategy Board Game). The new game will bring the Martian invasion described by H.G. Wells in his novel ‘The War of the Worlds’ to the Wings of Glory game line, merging it with the historical background of the Great War. The game will be launched in November on Kickstarter, and a prototype will be showcased at the show.
Special game sessions with the authors of Hunt for the Ring (Francesco Nepitello, Marco Maggi and Gabriele Mari) and Sword & Sorcery (Nunzio Surace and Simone Romano) will be held at the main Ares Games’ booth, in Hall 3. Ares will also co-sponsor the second Behind the Throne tournament, on Friday Oct. 27th, in hall "Mailland", from 11 am to 2 pm, together with the German publisher 2Geeks and the Ukrainian publisher and design studio, iGames. The tournament will have a limited number of participants, with prizes to the 3 first winners. For more information and to register, click here.
