The crowdfunding campaign for the racing and betting game Divinity Derby races toward the finish line: the project on Kickstarter ends this Friday, March 24th, at 11:00 PM CET (10:00 PM UTC/GMT). With about 30 hours to go, it’s 400% funded, with over $ 48,000 pledged, and more than 900 backers. All goals were unlocked, improving the rewards with deluxe components, additional cards, and more.
The Divinity Derby Kickstarter project offers the Standard Edition of the game (like the retail version but sent to backers first), or a Deluxe Edition with hand-painted miniatures (only available on Kickstarter), and presents six pledge levels.
The “Demi-God” pledge is $35 and includes as rewards a copy of the standard edition and all unlocked "Standard" stretch goals. The “Olympian” pledge level ($50) includes a copy of the Deluxe Edition of the game and all "Standard" and "Deluxe Only" stretch goals. Two new pledge levels added during the campaign: “Hades” ($70), combining a copy of the Deluxe Edition of Divinity Derby at Early Bird pricing and stretch goals with one copy of the Kickstarter edition of “Dungeon Time”, and “Gemini” ($80), combining a Deluxe Edition at Early Bird price and a Standard Edition of Divinity Derby, with all appropriate stretch goals.
“Pantheon” ($135) is the “party” pledge for people looking to save on shipping, including three copies of the Deluxe Edition and unlocked stretch goals.
The “God of Trade” ($195) is reserved to retailers, offering six copies of the Deluxe Edition and unlocked stretch goals. Finally, a limited pledge level, “Follower of Ares” ($100) offers one copy of the Deluxe Edition of Divinity Derby (with all stretch goals) plus one copy of each of the previous games in Ares' Euro Game range – Aztlán, Inkognito and Odyssey – Wrath of Poseidon.
Thanks to the unlocked goals, the game now includes three unique individual powers to the player-Gods, Fate tokens and Creature Powers, in both the Standard and Deluxe Edition, and in the Deluxe Edition, two new Gods (chosen by the backers with a poll, and complete with their decks of betting cards and godly powers), a special booklet, the Divinity and Creature Compendium, and other physical improvements to the components. Two other gods, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and Cthulhu, were included as a free add-on to Deluxe Edition or a $5 add-on for the Standard Edition.
