A new expansion for Galaxy Defenders will be released this month. For players wanting to boost the game with more powerful opponents, the Elite Alien Legion, developed thanks to the Galaxy Defenders - The Earth Strikes Back! Kickstarter project, is now arriving in distribution. The expansion features 20 Alien figures in their most powerful version, to be fully integrated with the base game and the expansions Operation Strikeback and Extinction Protocol.
The Elite Alien Legion figures use the same sculptures as the Alien figures in Operation Strikeback and Extinction Protocol, but they are Elite level - as indicated by their distinctive red color - and have enhanced stats and abilities to increase the challenge when playing with the new expansions or with the Galaxy Defenders Core Set. The figures can be added to any mission, or replace the green/blue figures in a mission, to make it more difficult.
The expansion includes 20 Alien figures: Xeno-delta (2), Diggers (4), Flying critter (2), Xeno-gamma (2), Crimson Nightmare (2) and Sentinels (4), as well as 4 Alien Eggs and 16 Alien Cards. The Elite Alien Legion may be introduced into any mission, without breaking game pace and mission structure, by simply choosing one of three enhancement levels: Overkill, Extreme, or Campaign.
Overkill Enhancement represents a heightened level of difficulty, replacing all blue Aliens and Alien Eggs in the mission, leaving only the weakest and the strongest enemy ranks (green and red). Extreme Enhancement represents an extremely advanced level of difficulty, replacig all green Aliens and Alien Eggs, leaving only the two strongest enemy ranks (blue and red).
Enhance the Campaign is the suggested method of introducing the Elite Army Legion into the Galaxy Defenders Core Set, Operation Strikeback, and Extinction Protocol campaigns. The required changes for each mission are indicated in the Rulebook Booklet included in the expansion, with tables showing the cards to be replaced with Elite Alien Legion cards.
The Elite Alien Legion expansion is suggested for players who are already experienced with the standard game. The rules for managing aliens and their powers are included in the expansion rulebook, and also covered by the Tactical Rulebook, downloadable in the Utility section of the Galaxy Defenders website.
