We've already presented the major changes coming with the new Galaxy Defenders expansions, and what is coming in Operation Strikeback. Now, it's time to see more about Extinction Protocol.
In Operation Strikeback, the battle for Earth takes the Agents to the dark side of the Moon, where an advanced alien base has been discovered. During the final battle, the Agency activates the portal located in the alien base and brings the fight to the Alien’s home planet: a barren, unforgiving planet of dread and terror the Agents must brave to ensure the survival of the human race and the collapse of the evil Alien dominion! In Extinction Protocol it’s us or them, in the ultimate struggle for survival.
The Aliens field their most vicious biological weapons: the biomechanical, tentacled Sentinels, always moving in groups and equipped with advanced targeting systems act as the early warning system for the evil powers. Deep from the darkest abyss come the Crimson Nightmares, with their neural stealth system, deadly speed, and vicious claws. Massive, imposing Xeno-Gammas, serve as the bodyguards of the wicked Alien Queen, but worst of all are the alien Eggs; if left alone, they spawn small but deadly spiderlike creature that poison their opponents. (The eggs are represented by plastic miniatures, thanks to the Kickstarter campaign!) But, the planet is also defended by Elder versions of the alien species already encountered by the Agents: stronger, faster, and smarter than their younger relatives, Elder aliens represent a creditable threat to even the most seasoned Galaxy Defender.
During their journey through the steaming and hostile caverns of the alien planet, Agents meet a new Master Alien (unlocked through the Kickstart campaign), the deadly Kingator: half machine and half beast of war, it is equipped with armored skin, massive jaws, and a plethora of ranged weapons. Should the heroes survive this impossible menace, they must still face the Alien Queen herself, a gigantic abomination, which stops at nothing to erase the earthlings from her planet!
Again, the Agents are unprepared: the R&D section of the Agency has finally completed the Power Armors. Each Agent has his own fully functional armor, with all new abilities and weapons, which allow incredible feats of combat and special manoeuvres. Each agent's Power Armor has its own special power and special weapon, plus energy shields, enhanced movement, and increased protection.
New weapons are also available to the Agents, such as the Destroyer (a 5-red dice, crit 2, lethal ranged weapon) or the wicked Sucker Fist, which recharges when it kills an alien. New Skills help the heroes overcome the alien creatures, some specific to each class. For instance, the Marine may become a Grenade Master and add every kind of grenade to his arsenal and make them even more lethal; or the Biotech may become a Drone Master, giving new powers to all his battlefield drones. Finally, the Agency issues several powerful devices, such as the Area Barrier (reduces damages from all attacks in the area), the Invisibility Field (user cannot be targeted by any alien, if not already engaged), or the GD-5 battledrone, with enhanced firepower and mobility.
Again, thanks to the Kickstart campaign, the GD-5 miniature is also included in the box and the ranks of the Agency will be bolstered by the Bio-Armor NPC, an ancient creature who hates the Alien Queen with all its essence, and will stop at nothing to destroy its evil power.
The fate of whole galaxies hangs in the balance in this ultimate conflict. Extinction Protocol will bring final victory – or endless oblivion: all depends on you, Galaxy Defenders! Race to the call, don your power armors, and fight for your planet! For glory!
