After a great flight, the Wings of Glory Miniature Game – Giants of the Sky project on Kickstarter ended with $126,111, 630% funded, with the support of 762 backers. Thanks to this great success, the "Giants of the Sky" models - the Handley-Page O/400 and the Zeppelin Staaken R.VI - will become a part of the WW1 Wings of Glory game next October.
The campaign funded the release of these huge models for Wings of Glory, and it was also a great opportunity to promote the game and reach new players. About 200 backers pledged at the "Rookie" reward levels, targeted for newcomers.
The campaign launched on March 10th, and the initial funding goal of $20,000 was achieved in only 2 hours and 29 minutes. Nine stretch goals were unlocked, adding more rewards for the backers: poster maps to use together with the bomber models as gaming mats, a delxue management card, a package of five scenarios, the WW1 version of the Wings of Glory Toolkit app for Android and IOS, decks of aces, crew and skill cards, and a beautiful poster with all WW1 Wings of Glory airplanes.
Backers could add to their rewards several add-ons to enhance the gameplay experience, as items of Aerodrome Accessories (our official licensee) and other from the official product range, and also a very special item, "Snoopy the Flying Ace", a kit, produced by Running Press, which commemorates Snoopy in his iconic role as the Flying Ace.
Ares Games thanks all backers for their support, as well its partners, Aerodrome Accessories and Running Press.
