Ares Games will run 12 events at GenCon 2014 (August 14-17, Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis). Among them is the first attempt to set the record for most players in a Sails of Glory game. The event is scheduled for Thursday 14th, at 10 AM, and up to 52 players can register to participate.
In the Sails of Glory Record Breaker attempt, players will receive a frigate to keep as part of the entry (the cost for registration is $14), and there will be prizes for the highest number of enemy kills. The big Sails of Glory game is open to newcomers - no experience is required, the rules will be taught.
In the one week since GenCon activated the events on its website, most of the Ares Games' sessions for Wings of Glory WW1 and WW2, Sails of Glory and Galaxy Defenders have sold out. There are still tickets available for the Sails of Glory Record Breaker attempt and two Wings of Glory events: Queen of the Skies (WW2), on August 15th, and Dawn of Giants (WW1), on August 16th, both at 10 AM.
In these two events, players will receive a fighter to keep as part of the entry ($14), which they'll use to defend or destroy inbound bombers. Prizes will be awarded for kills. The entries are limited to 24 players, so don't miss the chance to get your ticket!
Other Wings of Glory events will be hosted by the independent group Northern Virginia Gamers (NOVAG). To check all events in program at Gen Con 2014, visit the convention's website.
