The next series of WW1 Wings of Glory Airplane Packs is expected to release this Summer and will introduce new single-seat fighters - Phönix D.I and Nieuport 11- and new two-seaters - Sopwith 1½ Strutter/Comic and Albatros C.III. The series will be launched with a new content format - following the lead of the new Airplane Packs recently announced for the WW2 Wings of Glory line.
In addition to the 'traditional' contents - a fully painted and assembled airplane model, flight stand with game stats, altitude stands, and a deck of maneuver cards - the new Airplane Packs will also contain specific cards with optional rules and game information specific to each model - such as optional equipment (rockets, machine gun), special rules for individual airplanes, ace cards and skill cards.
The packaging will be also revisited to match the new content format, presenting a picture of the airplane on the back (in addition to the trasparent window showing the miniature inside), and including brief historical information about the airplane featured in the pack.
The new WW1 Airplane Packs will feature three versions of each plane: the Phönix D.I piloted by Lang, Urban and Gruber, the Nieuport 11 of Chaput, De Turenne and Ancillotto, the Sopwith 1½ Strutter of Costes/Astor and Collishaw/Portsmouth and the Comic version of the 78 Squadron, and the Albatros C.III of Bohme/Ladermacher, Meinecke, and Luftstreitkräfte.
The WW1 Wings of Glory section is now updated with information and photo of these planes. To see them, visit the WW1 Airplane Packs page.
