In 1956, The Return of the King was published in the United States - thus completing the publication of the first edition of Tolkien's epic trilogy, The Lord of the Rings. To celebrate this anniversary, and the fifth anniversary of the publication of War of the Ring Second Edition, Ares Games is proud to announce the Anniversary Release of War of the Ring Second Edition, due for release in Spring 2016.

Comparison between versions

As we announced last Thursday, Ares Games is opening pre-orders today for the Anniversary Release of War of the Ring Second Edition (English version), at the cost of US$ 369.90 (+19% VAT in the European Union) + Postage & Packing.
Pre-orders are now open, and will remain open for 48 hours, until July 22nd at 6:00 PM UTC.

July, 22nd addendum: About 1500 copies have been sold in the initial 48-hours pre-order window. Last 500 copies will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, until stock lasts.

A limit of one copy per customer's address will be strictly enforced. Ares Games has the right to cancel any order not respecting this policy.

Limited Print Run

The print run is limited to 2000 copies. All copies will include a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Shipping Date

The Anniversary Release of War of the Ring Second Edition is expected to ship to customers in April, 2016 (actual date may change). If, because of production requirements, Ares Games must ship orders in multiple batches, orders will be serviced on a first-come, first-served base.

Payment

Advance payment in full must be completed through our order system for your order to be valid.

Shipping Charges

Shipping charges will be requested together with your payment, as indicated below.

- USA: $20.00 P&P
- Canada and Mexico (shipping from the USA): $40.00 P&P
- Rest of the World (shipping from the USA): $75.00 P&P
- Germany: $15.00 P&P
- Other European Union Countries (shipping from Germany): $25.00 P&P
- Non-EU European Union Countries (shipping from Germany): $40.00 P&P

Shipping charges and VAT will be added automatically to the base cost of the game when you indicate your correct address in our ordering system.

Note for European Union Customers

Shipments to customers residing in the European Union will ship from Germany, so no custom charges apply. However, these shipments are subject to a 19% VAT rate (German VAT rate), according to European laws and regulations, for a total price of $ 439.11.

Refund Policy

Refunds can be requested within 2 weeks from placing your order, subject to a penalty of 10% for bank and handling fees. Given the limited nature of this product, after that date, no refunds are possible. For exceptional circumstances, we can consider refunds under different terms on an individual basis. If this is needed, contact us using our contact form.
In the event any translated versions of the Anniversary Release are announced to become available, customers can choose to switch from the English version to another version free of charge.
